  The Watchtower----A Book Publishing Company???

  sure they publish books and they used to do that quite a bit.

  but now, i wouldn't primarily call it a "book publishing company".

  they charge nothing for the literature.

  I got a load of info. from cenus returns going back to 1841.It was very very absorbing.I found Ancestry.com to be very useful in that regard.Visited church yards and found out where my ancestors were buried and visited where they used to live.Spent the last couple of years doing research. This summer I have arranged a trip to WW1 battle fields to see the memorials to the missing, going to look for a name at theThiephal monument ,

  Did the Watchtower leaders ever make sense?

  how come a group of elderly men in brooklyn get to be thought of as god's representatives on earth and his main channel of communication with other people abiding by their pronouncements.. if another group said they were representatives of napolean and to obey them was the road to eternal life they would be a laughing stock.that is just as incredible as the wacktower leaders promises of a new world order.so why should the barmy army be believed by anyone ,it don't make sense..

  who knows the best stuff to use?

  my daughter gave me two pouches of poison..i put one down - all gone the next morning,!!!.

  the next night i put another pouch down, all gone!!

  Hi Mouthy,

  Sorry to hear about your dirty rat.We had one once,only one, a few years ago and we tried a sonic sound vermin shifter it was expensive and didn't work and the canary died( maybe a coincidence) I went down to the kitchen one morning and it had ripped through a bag of garbage it looked like a fox had got in. It chewed half way through a wooden rolling pin, it chewed practically all the way through an electric cable, it was crafty though, it didn't chew enough to electrocute its self.It tried to chew its way up through a floor board while I was hitting it's whiskers with a hammer .It tried to chew it's way through the bottom of a closed door.I chased it from top to bottom.It used to go back to bed around eight in the morning because I could hear it creeping above in the loft space.It had no fear and oh boy was it fast!

  In the end I got that mad I put poison down in the loft space, within one day it had stopped it.About a week later as I went out through the front door I noticed an appalling stench.I opened the meter cupboard and nearly choked it had gone and died under the loft insulation which I had put in thinking it was vermin proof.The rat ended up on a bonfire in the garden .

  All we get now, and that is out in the garden, is an occasional frog and a hedgehog.Put plenty of poison down but take care if you have pets and good luck.

  hi.. just wondering what made you take the final leap out of the org?

  was it doctrinal in that certain things just didnt add up or was it because of the actions of people in the org.

  In a word, balast. "Blast the balast" that was Noahs last words as he walked up the gang plank suffering the mother of all hernias.If it wasn't for those stones and having to make them oblong instead of spherical he could have put his feet up months before it rained.You see he didn't want any of the rolling stones below decks because they would have played havoc with the arks internal guidance system.So he hued them for months and called them his stone henge.He fitted a couple to the ark door ,God told him to make sure the door had a couple of good henges on it, Noah was also hearing impaired.

  While the ark was floating over the south of England God told Noah to get rid of the balast and Wiltshire copped for the lot and ended up with the famous stone circle.Which solves another mystery.

  i'm just trying to fill a logical hole.

  many people conclude that the existence of life or the structure of the universe demands that there be a god.

  i don't really agree with this, but i can sympathise with that viewpoint.

  It was a human who said there are many gods and it was a human who said there is only one God. Is it proven by any shadow of doubt that God has spoken directly to mankind? Answer, a big fat NO!

  For all we know there might be loads of Gods out there somewhere in the corner of the universe hiding away at the end of a big black hole all competing against each other .

  are very fond of saying that appostates who post on the internet are like satan in eden hiding their identity just like the devil who used the serpent.. this begs the question why do the awake and watchtower writers need to hide behind the printing presses of the evil tower, what are they ashamed of or more to the point what is the govening body frightened of ?.

  maybe the book club and rip off society are guilty of identity theft in not declaring the names of their writers..

  Obviously the leaders of the New World Soc.since the passing of old man Rutherford have not wanted the credentials of it's writers made public because let's face it they have no gravitas in themselves, they are just ordinary people spouting a sermon within a straight jacket of doctrine.Sometimes they have to ammend previous thoughts and statements then they are put on" light" duties until the rank and gullible have swallowed the latest twists and turns.So who tells them to write the new trash ? must be the Governing Body who say, for instance " no! no! a thousand times no! you can't say the generation who saw 1914 will not pass away, please edit it out now at once if not sooner."

  Another reason for the hidden identity is that if any of them decide to commit an offence worthy of the big elbow it will not reflect badly on the so called Jehovahs channel of communication.
